Barack Obama has announced that six-term Sen. Joseph Biden of Delaware will be his running mate on the Democratic ticket for President. Da Brat is going to Jail!

Da Brat was sentenced to three years for hitting a woman over the head in a nightclub with a bottle in 2007. The Judge also sentenced her to 7 years of probation.
Da Brat whose real name is Shawntae Harris was reportedly very emotional as her family broke down and cried as she was led out the court room.
All I can say is these celebrities are still acting up when it is apparent that Judges are not playing with them and don't care about who they are or who they know. IAnd is it really a shocker that you got jail time? You hit someone in the head with a bottle; what did you think would happen? Also, Da Brat knows that she should have been behaving.....I mean once Martha Stewart went to jail, all bets were off! That should have been a message to all that anyone can go at anytime!

Shaq, what were you thinking? No, actually the real question is were you thinking? An unknown rapper out of Atlanta who goes by Mary Jane has made charges that Shaq has been harrassing her and threatening to cause her bodily harm. She is alleging that Shaq and her recently ended an affair and that now he is threatening to ruin her career (picture above indicates where the career was going) and hurt her. Interestingly enough, he made threats to pay off record industry contacts with $50,000 not to promote her in any way.
Shaq apparently wasn't sure if the threats alone made him the dumbest player in the NBA, so he sent out (positive proof) text messages to follow up with her and to make sure that she can get as much money out of him as possible.
According to court docs Shaq wrote her one email that reads, "I dnt no who the fuk u think u dealin wit u will neva be heard from one phone call is all I gotta make no try me. Sho me."The docs also allege Shaq sent her "an unsolicited vulgar and offensive illustration of a man physically restraining a woman while forcing her to engage in sexual intercourse with him."
What in the world was he thinking? Did he think that she would keep quiet? Wow!

The only thing that I can think of that may have pushed shaq into this kind of desperate act is that he recently reunited with his wife and he wanted to put extra on it to make sure that Sister Shaunie didn't find out. Dumb, Dumb, Dumb!

Okay, so newlywed Chris Kattan has filed for a separation from his wife model Sunshine Tutt. They met in 2005 and dated for 3 years before tying the knot two months ago. Two months ago? These things I never really get, I mean they dated for three years, what changed in two months?

And, it's kind of funny because when you have money you can get fed up and separate or divorce immediately. When your are poor the last thing you want to even think about is that you have irreconcilable differences after two months, because all you're thinking is that the wedding isn't even paid for yet.

Happy Sweet 16 Miley! Miley Cyrus will turn 16 on October 5th and she will celebrate it at Disneyland. Miley's Sweet 16 will also serve a a fund raiser for Youth Service America. It is nice that Miley has found a way to give back on her day. Her birthday is open to the public and the limited amount of tickets will cost $250 a pop. Good thing for Miley and the Children who will benefit from the function. Bad for the thousands, maybe even millions of parents who will scramble and shamelessly try to get those tickets for their kids. I hate to think about how the parents will be punished who fail to get the golden ticket.

Gwen Stefani delivers a healthy baby boy!

Gwen Stefani and hubby Gavin Rossdale welcomed their second son on Wednesday. Gwen, 38 and baby are doing fine!

Both parents have reported that they wanted to another child soon after their first child and are overjoyed with their new healthy baby.

Zuma Nesta Rock Rossdale was born at 12:46 p.m. and weighed 8 1/2 lbs. He joins the couple's other son Kingston, who turned 2 in May.

Laurence Fishburne will join the cast of CBS hit series 'CSI Crime Scene Investigations'. Fishburne is an accomplished actor who has won an Emmy and a Tony award for his work will return to the small screen and begin filming in Mid September. The first episode starring Fishburne will air in December. William Peterson recently left the series and Fishburne was courted to fill that void.

In its press release officially announcing Fishburne's long-rumored casting, CBS says "Fishburne will play a former pathologist who is now working as an itinerant college lecturer, teaching a course in criminalistics. His focus is on understanding criminal behavior, how and why people commit acts of violence – tendencies he disturbingly sees within himself."

It was reported that someone spray painted the word SLUT on the side of Sienna Miller's home. I am taking a wild guess here and assuming that this is a reference to her relationship/affair with Balthazar Getty. So, who is the likely culprit? I'm hoping that it is Getty's wife, because she is the only person who should have been able to work herself up into a frenzy enough to do something like this.

But if it is someone (who is not connected to these people in anyway) that is so angry at Sienna that they have come to her house in the middle of the night to vandalise it based on what they have read in the tabloids, I would like to say that that person is Coo Coo for Coco-Pops! It is being marketed as the 'smart' beer that is 'good for you' because it has 'vitamins' in it. The whole slogan is like a oxymoron that is seriously questioning it's consumer's intelligence. Because they want you to drink so much of their beer that they profit from it, but they want you to get your vitamins while you get plastered. Lauryn, What happened?

Where in the world is the woman with the beautiful voice and the sharp rapping skill whose deliver was respected by all? Ms. Lauryn Hill who won 7 grammy awards for her CD 'The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill' and sold out huge crowds.
And then? She just kind of went away. She stopped performing and when she did tour, she just didn't deliver.

Recently, Lauryn Hill's significant other Rohan Marley (pictured with her above) did an interview with People Magazine. He spoke about how Lauryn is doing okay with her life and that she spends most of her time just being a good mom to their 5 kids: sons Zion, 11; Joshua, 6; and John, 5; and daughters Selah, 9; and a still unnamed seven-month-old (what do they call this child and what are they waiting for?). From Rohan's report, people erroneously report on Lauryn all the time including Ms. Hill's ex Fugee Members Wyclef Jean and Praswell; who have publicly reported that Lauryn is crazy and that she needs some help!

Ms. Hill declined to comment to People, but obviously there is more going on than Marley is willing to admit. I went to her concert after the Miseducation was released and I went to one last year; needless to say, the latter was painful. I'm hoping that Lauryn makes a return, I think that if she gets whatever it is that is wrong, fixed- I think that she will rock the house!

Britney plans to bring it full Circle!

It has been reported that Britney Spears will perform at MTV's VMA later this year. This is a huge deal for Britney. I'm sure that everyone remembers the fiasco that was Britney's performance last year. So, I have to assume that Britney believes that she is ready spiritually, physically and emotionally. That performance was like the kick off for some crazy and crazier behavior for her; it was all down hill. I have to admit that Britney has been looking like her old self, once the craziest people stopped chasing her around with a million cameras.

Ice-T was up to his usual antics again; degrading and embarrassing himself and his wife at the same time. I can only shudder to think what goes on behind closed doors, if this is what his live show looks like. I will say that he has been consistent with what he likes. And alot of rappers put on these airs of being something that they are not. But I think that when Ice-T was younger and he said that he was a hustler, you have to believe him. He was a pimp for sure! Because he definitely seems to like for his wife to look and behave like a blow up doll at all times, preferably with an audience.

I don't know if Mike will ever be okay!

So, the latest buzz that I have been hearing about Mike is that he owes his brothers thousands in royalties (surprise- I mean who doesn't he owe?) and he hasn't spoke to them in years. (Yawn)

But the real issue here is what is really going on with Mike? I keep on hearing that he has all of todays hottest producers working on his new album, but how is he going to perform? I never see him walk on his own anymore. Either he is in a wheelchair or he is leaning on someone for support. And he always has on a mask. How is he going to sing with a mask on? Lead Pussycat Dolls singer Nicole Scherzinger and her boyfriend Lewis Hamilton were the victims of a robbery while they were vacationing in Spain recently. Two of the couple's suitcases were taken from their rental car by two men after their chauffeur had just loaded their belongings in the trunk. An eye witness reported that the two men approached the car when the chauffeur was tending to cleaning the windows of the vehicle. Bodyguards were able to retrieve one of the bags after it was dropped as the men were pursued.

Lil Wayne has some Tax issues!

It appears that Lil Wayne has an on-going dispute with Florida Authorities over his allegedly not paying his taxes. It looks like this issue started in May 2008 when a notice of a federal tax lien was filed. Lil Wayne's lawyer Ron Sweeny is arguing that his client has paid the debt of $977,840.81 and that there must be a problem with the processing administration. I hope so, I just don't get it when entertainers don't pay their taxes. They have the money, but I guess that they forget? The IRS sure is lenient with stars though. If the average person owes $3,000, they will come find you and start threatening. There is never a chance to accrue a bill that is almost a million dollars. I'm just saying. Shoot if my bill got that big, I'd probably be wondering, "why you tripping now"?

Congratulations to Michael Phelps! He won his 8th Gold medal yesterday in Beijing, China. Phelps won his last gold medal in the 4 x 100 relay with fellow teammates Aaron Piersol, Brendsn Hanson and anchor leg Jason Lezak. The team swam to victory in front of a crowd of enthusiastic fans that included Phelps' biggest fans his mother and sisters. Additionally, Lezak broke a world record of fastest time 3:29.24!

Jamaican runner Usain Bolt is the fast man alive! Bolt easily won the Men's 100 meter dash with an incredible time of 9:69 seconds. He left his competition in the dust. And the amazing thing is that he briefly pulled up to look around and do a chest pump before crossing the line, he could have finished earlier if he hadn't done this!

GOP Presidential Candidate John McCain is getting it from everywhere these days. First, Paris Hilton clowned him with her rebuttal for him using her image in his ad to slam his opponet Democratic Nominee Barak Obama. And now, recording artist Jackson Browne is suing him for using his song "Running on empty" in an ad once again mocking Obama. It was reported that one of the things that appear to bother Browne most is that McCain's use of his music suggest that he supports the Republican Nominee. Browne is seeking to have the ad pulled and unspecified damages.

When will McCain learn? It goes back to our 1st lessons in life. Doesn't he remember when his mother told him, "John, you can't use Nancy's crayons, unless she says it's okay." I know that it has been a long time since he was taught that, but you would think that some things would just stay with him.

Lisa Raye and hubby Michael Misick have both issued formal statements to their subject of Turks & Cairos reporting that they are getting a divorce. They have only been married for two years and it has been drama full for the most part of it. It has been an extemely public affair because she is a United States Actress and he is the Premier of Turks & Cairos. When they married, Lisa Ray became a 1st lady. As you can imagine and Lisa Raye probably hoped, it should have been a dream come true. Eh, Eh...not gonna happen. Their relationship has been on the rocks for quite some time. Michael is still under investigation for allegedly raping one of Lisa Raye's associates earlier this year, they have been separated for the last couple of months, Michael has been photographed out and about with other women on several occasions-most recently 106 & Park Host Rosci (see photo below) and now Lisa has been back in the U.S. getting her party on. And even though all of these factors do not make for a happy marriage, I didn't think that things would turn quite so ugly.
On Wednesday, August 13, Lisa Raye, her publicist and her cousin came to the home. It was reported that Lisa Raye was making a last attempt to salvage her marriage. For reasons, that we will never know, things escalated where Lisa and her crew came to blows with Michael in front of a crowd of people that included government officials. Husband and wife both had to seek medical attention after their violent altercation. So, the statements were released to which of course I say "duh, long time coming. 'You know what is funny? Michael probably had no idea that Lisa could take it to this level. He probably thought I've got a beautiful famous American bride. She kept it under until she had to (he forced her) take that can of Whip Ass out her back pocket. Another case of keeping it real gone too far.

Okay, so the publicity stunt gone wrong has now redeemed itself. Four and a half years ago, Janet Jackson caused a ruckus when she danced with Justin Timberlake to 'Rock Your Body' and at the exact moment that the words "I'm gonna have you naked by the end of this song" came out of Justin's mouth, IT happened. The world famous 'accidental' reveal of Janet's star covered nipple (she sure was lucky that she just happened to have that star on). Hence the term 'Wardrobe Malfunction' was born! Over 500,000 people complained about the exposure. Janet's career has never recovered. Christina is looking to the future!

Christina Applegate is trying to stay positive after the terrible news that she's battling breast cancer. So she's reportedly decided to have a baby, since she's been wanting to for a very long time, Star Magazine reports. Before she was diagnosed, Christina told a reporter that she didn't want to wait until her mid-forties to have a baby, and that her biological clock was ticking. Christina has also decided to put off her chemotherapy until after giving birth. She apparently plans on getting pregnant with musician Martyn Lenoble, whom she's been dating for a few months. Then Christina will start the treatment after giving birth so she doesn't expose her body to chemo or radiation.
I wish Christina all the best and I pray that if she is not jeopardizing her health that she will be pregnant soon and after she delivers, she can safely start her Chemotherapy.

I know that Matthew appears to be the 'earthy' type. He's always got his shirt off (smile), on the beach all the time and he lives in a trailer for the most part. But he has reported that he plans to plant his son's placenta in his orchard.

Thankfully, there is a logic that has promoted this idea; planted placenta apparently really fertilize the earth and plants that grow from it are supposedly beautiful. So, it is official, Tori Spelling has decided not to participate on the 90210 spin off because she learned that her fellow co-stars Shannon Doherty and Jennie Garth were receiving like $20-25,000 more than her per episode. I can't blame her, I mean first of all she is Aaron Spelling's Daughter- I know nepotism got her there, but she was part of the cast for the entire run of the show (unlike Doherty and Garth). I wonder how they are justifying the differential pay? Shannon is interesting, since she is a bad-ass and can't hold a job and she has a reputation for being difficult. And Garth, She's pleasant enough, but except for some lifetime movies and a stint on Dancing with the Stars....what has she done that justifies her getting more moolah?

Now Spelling- this girl works, she is always in some Lifetime movie, Reality show and she appears to be funny as hell. I think she should hold out and make them pay the piper.

Heroes star Hayden Panettiere had a run in with a panhandler on Friday. Reportedly, she had good intentions and planned to give a beggar some money. But, as she reached into her purse, she realised that she only had a $20 bill. Reportedly, Hayden asked the panhandler if he had change, to which of course he didn't. So, she ran off telling the man that she didn't have change, but she would find him later. Hilarious!!! I would really have liked to hear more about the effort that she put forward to find him and give him that $1.

Check Out John Mayer's cover of "Free Falling". I just love John's music, he is truly what folks called 'blue eyed soul'. What I like best about him is that you can tell that he gets into every note that he plays and sings.

I decided to feature Solange, because I like the fact that she obviously is and has chosen to present herself as an individual. It would have been so easy and predictable for her to follow in her sister's footsteps and be lil Beyonce, but I think that the interview shows that she is her on person. When you first look, she seems to have a little bit of an attitude, but I think that she has definitely accomplished something important....no one is going to compare her to Beyonce. She is her own performer and I love this song.

Issac Hayes- Dead at 65

I just learned that Issac Hayes has died in Memphis today. The causes have not been released yet. His wife reports that she found him unconscious in their home and that he was rushed to Memorial Hospital.

Hayes was known for his deep baritone voice. He won an academy award for his "Theme from Shaft". He was a musical genius who penned many hits for other fellow artists as well.

In later years, he voiced 'Chef'' on the animated series 'South Park'.

He is survived by his wife Adjowa Hayes and his six children.

A Murder in Beijing devastates an American Family

In the midst of the competiveness of the Olympics, a tragedy has occurred. An American family was victim of an attack that claimed the life of a man, his wife is in critical condition and the knife wielding culprit jumped 130 feet to his death. This story makes no sense and now that the culprit has killed himself, we probably will never know what prompted the attack.

Todd and Barbara Bachman accompanied their daughter Elisabeth to Beijing to support her husband Hugh McCutcheon who is the head coach of the U.S. men’s volleyball team. Elisabeth is a former member of the 2004 U.S. volleyball team.

By all accounts, it sounds like the Bachmans were wonderful people. They supported Elisabeth and her teammates through their training. They were a 'Kool-Aid' family who welcomed everyone into their home and family. They bonded with Elisabeth's coaches and other volleyball parents. The Bachmans attended all of their daughter's games cheering and full of encouragement to all. So, it was not out of the ordinary that they would accompany their daughter (who retired from playing volleyball in 2007) to the Olympics.

They were on the tourist track on Friday visiting the popular attraction the Drum Tower when they were attacked. Todd was killed instantly and Barbara is fighting for her life. Their daughter Elisabeth was at the scene as the murderer jumped to his death.

Unfortunately, there are many questions here that may never get answered.

It is still difficult to believe that we lost Bernie Mac after yesterday after a 10 day long bout with pneumonia at age 50. As his family struggles to make sense of what has happened, his sister in law Mary Ann Grossett has spoken with People.com about his last hours. She reports that his wife Rhonda and his daughter were with him until the end.
Mary Ann Grossett says that the night before Mac died, "He struggled for his life. He couldn't breathe. "He opened his eyes on his own and looked at Rhonda. She called his name, and he opened his eyes and nodded to her. She smiled at him and told him, 'Don't leave me … 'I'm waiting for you to come back.' He shrugged his shoulders, and she said that's when she knew he was tired. He signaled to her that his body was tired."
"[The doctors] were working on him," says Grossett. "They tried to resuscitate him two times. One time he came back for about an hour. Then he went into cardiac arrest the second time." Prior to that, the couple had last communicated on July 31. "He told his wife [non-verbally] that he could breathe on his own, and he wanted the ventilator out. He motioned that he wanted it out," says Grossett.
Bernie Mac’s funeral is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 16, at an undisclosed location. The family requests that donations be made to the Bernie Mac Foundation for Sarcoidosis, 40 E. Ninth St., Suite 601, Chicago IL 60605.
My heart goes out to the Mac family.

Although it has been a few days since this story broke, I wanted to comment on Paris Hilton. I have never really been a fan of her. I know that she comes from money....but, so? R&B Star Usher has re-hired his mother Jonnetta Patton as his manager and publicist. Usher has parted ways with his former Manager Benny Medina (music mogul and manager for many stars including Mariah). What led to the split? We will probably never really know...it could be the decrease in record sells- current CD 'Here I Stand' has sold significantly less than 2004's 'Confessions' or it could be that Usher wanted what works back in place. Under his mother's management, Usher flourished, but he fired her last year amid rumors that there was a serious rift between Mama and Wifey Tameka. At any rate, it looks like Usher and his mother are very happy. I wonder what Tameka is looking like right now.....

Bernie Mac dead at 50

Sadly, it was announced that famed Comedian Bernie Mac died this morning of complications related to pneumonia. Bernie Mac had been hospitalized at the Northwestern Memorial Hospital for the past week. He revealed that he had a condition called Sarcoidosis in 2005 that attacks the immune systems. He is survived by his wife of 30 years Rhonda, their daughter Jeniece and his only grandchild.

My condolences go out to the Mac family. He was a great talent and good man who will be missed.

Today, Former American Idol Runner up Clay Aiken, 29 became a father for the first time with his BFF Jaymes Foster, 50. Their son Parker Foster Aiken was born this morning. Parker was conceived through artificial insemination.

"The little man is healthy, happy, and as loud as his daddy," Aiken announced on his Web site blog.

I'm glad that their baby is here and he is healthy, but I think that it goes with out saying that this relationship with his significantly older BFF answers alot of questions about this guy who was unwilling to answer about his sexuality.

The Loreal Ad (photo on the right) has been attracting alot of attention in the last week. The photo on the right is a more realistic of Beyonce with her natural skin coloring. There has been alot of concern that Loreal 'lightened' Beyonce's photo to make her look fairer.

I think that I am more concerned with the fact that it looks like she has on a wig, rather than her actual hair. I mean, I'm just pointing out the obvious...... it is a hair advertizement.

Man Jailed for threatening to assasinate Obama

Sadly, it was reported that a 22 year old man named Raymond Hunter Geisel was arrested by the Secret Service in Miami on Saturday after he was heard making threats to assassinate Barack Obama- Democratic Candidate for President. He is being held without bail. He was overheard making the statement that If he gets elected, I'll assassinate him myself." Additionally, it was reported that he also made claims that "he hated the George W. Bush and that he wanted to put a bullet in the presidnet's head". He is being charged with threatening Obama and President Bush.
His hotel room and Explorer were found with various weapons which included a loaded handgun, knives, military style fatigues and a machete.
Of course, Geisel has realized that he is in a whole lotta mess now. He is recanting his remarks and he was only 'joking'. WTF? I don't get it what is the joke?
And lo and behold, he is also claiming that he suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder and has some serious psychiatric problems.
Wow.....Maybe he is crazy, because apparently before he recanted he actually owned up to some of the remarks to the Secret Service Men.......Not the sharpest knife in the drawer!
The Obama campaign declined comment Thursday on the alleged threat.

The San Francisco Chronicle has reported that Rihanna was spotted with a diamond ring on her ring finger prompting rumors that she is engaged to her beau Chris Brown. The two have been hanging pretty tough for a while now, so I guess we will have to wait and see.
